More than 100 photos were entered into Perrywood’s first ever photography competition and the judges were genuinely astounded by the overall quality of the shots. They included all sorts of wildlife but were dominated by the many birds and insects which flourish in our gardens.
The competition was judged by Hannah Powell from Perrywood and professional nature photographer Mark Harrop, from Mersea who said “I would like to thank all the people who entered the competition, who made it a VERY difficult choice for me and Hannah to come up with the winners and runner up photographs. We thoroughly enjoyed looking thorough the many photographs, some of which were truly amazing. Seeing all the photographs together just shows the amazing amount of wildlife we can see in our own little green spaces.”
Our winners and runners up are below. You can find a larger selection on our Facebook page (even if you don’t use Facebook), including the images which got some special judges’ awards. The best images are being displayed in our coffee shop, and will also appear in this week’s Tiptree Tribune newspaper. Pick up a copy in our coffee shop.
