We Can Recycle Your Plastic Pots

We know some local councils do not take used plastic pots and plant trays as part of their kerbside collections*, so we now offer a pot and plant tray recycling service to those unable to recycle at home.

Bring your empty plastic plant pots and trays with you next time you visit, and we’ll recycle them for you.

How it works

Before bringing your plant pots and trays, please remove any compost or debris. There’s no need to wash them or remove stickers.

When you arrive, simply follow the signs to our compost drive-thru. Please note this service is for cars only. For safety reasons, there is no pedestrian access.

At the drive-thru, one of the team will collect the pots and trays from your car, and we’ll send them off to be recycled.

What will happen to the plastic?

A local recycling company will collect the plastic regularly. It will be recycled into non-food grade plastics such as (more) plant pots and dustbin bags. All recycling is processed in compliance with Environment Agency Legislation.

Please note Colchester Borough Council and Chelmsford City Council do collect plastic pots in their kerbside collection.

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT RECYCLE POTS FROM BUSINESSES.
