Today a van load of Perrywood Grown plants has headed to London to appear at the world’s biggest flower show. We have been nurturing Pelargoniums, Geraniums, Nasturtiums, Thyme and Grasses which will all take their place in the British Plant Nursery Guide’s display which has been designed by professional designer Rosemary Coldstream.
Rosemary says “I am very excited about the Chelsea garden and have enjoyed working with British nurseries like Perrywood to create an eye-catching and memorable planting display.”
Perrywood’s Nursery Supervisor Dan Impey said, “Chelsea is the UK’s biggest flower show and we’re really pleased to be able to display some of our plants there for the first time. Plants have been grown at Perrywood for more than 40 years so we have a lot of experience to hand, although the weather in the lead up to the show has been a little nerve racking!”
The British Plant Nursery Guide promotes independent British nurseries who are passionate about plants. Their stand will be in Soane Way South, near the bandstand in Ranelagh Gardens. Hannah Powell from Perrywood will be on the Chelsea stand on Tuesday 22nd May, and is hoping to introduce Perrywood to some new customers and to share stories, hints & tips. If you are visiting please come and say hello!
Following the show all of Perrywood’s plants will be donated to the charity Gardening Leave. This will help them create a beautiful new walled garden in the grounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea. The charity was set up in 2007 and helps improve the wellbeing of service personnel through Horticulture Therapy.
