A big highlight of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is the Great Pavilion – a 12,000sq metre marquee featuring over a 100 exhibits including some of the UK’s best growers and florists – all showcasing the best English grown plants you can find.
We love a traditional English country garden here at Perrywood, many of our favourite and most popular plants are English grown. There’s something quite delightful about enjoying a Summer’s picnic surrounded by the scent of old English roses, towering Foxgloves, and the sweet smell of Dianthus.
Visit us in-store and be inspired by one of our summer displays which is celebrating the quintessential English country garden. Some of the stunning plants you’ll see on show include:
Viola ‘Zoe’
Lupinus ‘Red Rum’
Verbascum ‘Lavender Lass’
Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’
Dianthus ‘Pike’s Pink’
Iris ‘Baby Blue’
Foxgloves
Rosa ‘Gertrude Jekyll’
These plants not only look magnificent in the garden, but some make wonderful cut flowers. Roses for example, will repeat flower so you can fill your home with fragrance all summer. Verbascum will add height to an arrangement and Dianthus are long lasting.
If you’re lucky enough to be visiting RHS Chelsea this year, check out The Anneka Rice Colour Cutting Garden, designed by English gardener Sarah Raven, and in association with Tricia Guild (founder of renowned furnishing company Designers Guild), the garden showcases the best of the cut flowers and is an explosion of colour, not to be missed!
All this Summer we will be helping you to ‘holiday at home’ and to bring plants and products into your home and garden which remind you of being on holiday. Many of our favourite holidays have been spent across the UK! Look out for more hints and tips online and in-store.
