An evening of celebration at Perrywood Sudbury

Suppliers, local dignitaries, individuals from the garden industry and the Perrywood team celebrated our first year of trading at Perrywood Sudbury, on Wednesday evening. The event was not only to celebrate but also to thank everyone involved in making so many exciting changes at the garden centre in the past year. Here are just some of the photos from a fabulous evening…

The Deputy Mayor of Sudbury, Councillor Jack Owen and his wife, Mrs Maureen Owen

Horticulturist and Garden Writer, Barbara Segall and Garden Writer and Broadcaster (and Head Gardener at East Donyland Hall), Lucy Chamberlain made use of our upcycled floral selfie frame.

David Webb and Peter Seabrook both worked for Cundy’s back in the 1960s and 70s. Cundy’s was a plant nursery which was on the site back then, so it was lovely to welcome them both back. Peter remembers cycling from Chelmsford to get to work.

Group Catering Manager Jackie Newton and Executive Chef Andy Smith, who organised some fantastic food for the evening.

Invitees enjoying food and drink in our newly refurbished Coffee Shop.

Skinny Jean Gardener, Lee Connelly with Communications & HR Director Hannah Powell and Barbara Segall.

Thank you to our suppliers for their generous donations for the raffle. Together with a gin game (roll the coin nearest the gin bottle), we raised £196 for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity.

Our celebrations continue in-store this week – we are running a number of special offers across the garden centre until Wednesday 2nd October (exclusive to Perrywood Sudbury), including free tea and coffee with any food purchased this weekend.
