Our Plant Area Assistant (and Houseplant extraordinaire!), Arif Khan, has been selected to take part in this year’s Westland ‘Rising Stars’ programme, run by the Garden Centre Association (GCA).
Arif is among 25 hopefuls from garden centres across the country, competing to win the prestigious title of ‘Rising Star 2019’. The programme launched in March with a masterclass focusing on different aspects of retail merchandising.
Arif has just embarked on his first project which is an in-store promotion (located in our Houseplants department) of a unique self-watering system from Elho UK, and other handy houseplant care products within the Westland range.
He aims to inspire and inform customers with his eye-catching display and ‘how to’ Instagram (IGTV) tutorial video, and demonstrate new and convenient ways of plant watering and feeding. He wants to encourage customers to share their results on Instagram by tagging us @perrywoodhouseplants and using the hashtag #plantprogress.
Arif will report back to the GCA in July on how his display and social media activity has been received. If successful he will move forward to the next round before entering the final stages.
