It’s been a very busy year at Perrywood so far with over £18,000 raised for charities. We are delighted with funds raised and have easily exceeded our target of £15,000! So far, we have raised:
£14,000 for Mid and North East Essex Mind
£2,600 for Marie Curie and
£1,800 for Greenfingers Charity
We appreciate all the support from our customers and staff in raising this fantastic amount of money. Here are just some of the highlights from an incredible year so far…
In March, over 120 customers and staff joined us for a quiz night in our Coffee Shop and the event raised over £1,600 for Greenfingers charity, a fantastic charity that create magical gardens for children’s hospices.
We also raised £500 in March with our Marie Curie Blooming Great Daffodil Appeal thanks to donations from staff and customers. Team member Tanya won the prize for the best-dressed yellow outfit!
In May, seven members of the Perrywood team – Holly, Sally, Kim, Selina, Catherine, Tanya and Arif – took on the ultimate challenge by completing a tandem parachute jump from 13,000 feet. Between them, they raised an incredible £4,200 and with the match-fund from Perrywood, a total of £8,400 was raised for Mid and North East Essex Mind.
In June and July, Connor and Ryan took part in two cycle rides, Dragon Ride L’Etape Wales (223 km) and the Prudential Ride London-Surrey (100 miles). Together with the match-fund from Perrywood, the team of two raised over £1,200 for Mid and North East Essex Mind.
Our Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party held in the Coffee Shop in August was a ‘blooming great’ success! £1,498 was raised for Marie Curie.
Zoe, from our Houseplants team set herself the challenge of running eighteen half marathons in 2018! She has completed thirteen so far with the rest scheduled for the latter part of the year. So far, Zoe has raised £831 for Mid and North East Essex Mind.
Last night, we held a quiz night for over 90 people in our Coffee Shop and we raised a further £1,200 for Mid and North East Essex Mind. Congratulations to the team “Hardy Annuals” who took home the winners’ prizes after a close fought battle!
These are just some of the highlights of the year so far – other fundraising activities such as our staff sunflower competition, staff art, craft and planting workshops, have also contributed to the grand total.
We also continue to work with a number of local schools and societies. If you would like support for your event or organisation, please contact us well in advance via the form on our website. Please note we are unable to support all of the many organisations that approach us.
