We are delighted to have raised and donated £15,743 for charities in 2021! In spite of challenging circumstances due to Covid, we are really pleased to have raised this sum and thank all our customers and team for their ongoing support.
This grand total includes the following donations:
£1,968 for Together We Grow to support local refugee, BAME and LGBTQ communities, care homes and school children through encouraging engagement with nature and in particular with food growing.
£3,932 for Abberton Rural Training to assist and inspire people in Essex and surrounding areas to get out in the garden and grow their own and to give practical support and therapy through courses.
£1,383 for Greenfingers Charity to create magical gardens for children (and their families) in hospices.
£4,520 for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity to improve facilities and fund new equipment at Colchester Hospital.
£3,940 of plant donations and raffle prize vouchers to local schools and charities.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
Perrywood donated over £3,000 worth of plants and equipment to Together We Grow and Abberton Rural Training to support their gardening projects.
In March, team members and customers took part in Floral Friday as part of Garden Re-Leaf Day for Greenfingers Charity.
Instead of receiving any tips in 2021, the Coffee Shop & Restaurant team chose to collect money for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity. Thanks to the generous donations of our customers, the team raised £4,520. Some of this money was used to purchase LED ceiling tiles for a treatment room at the Collingwood Cancer Centre. The remaining money is part of an ongoing collection for an ultrasound machine.
In December, team members wore their Christmas jumpers to raise money for Greenfingers Charity.
Also in December, for our Christmas cheer campaign, the team delivered planted containers to twenty individuals in the local community who, for one reason or another, deserved a reason to smile.
The team took part in a Christmas creative challenge with Perrywood donating money to Together We Grow and Abberton Rural Training, for every completed decorated mask.
These are just some of the activities in 2021 that contributed to raising and donating the grand total of £15,743.
